Selvakumar Thilakshan, 26 years old, is a self-taught artist who commonly does oil paintings, pencil sketches and portraits of individuals. Thilakshan came from a humble family background with three siblings. His family income completely revolves around Thilakshan and his dad. He was very passionate about drawing at a very young age and his interest and love grew over the years and he ended up doing an arts degree. However, his family situation and moms health made him discontinue his degree and he started working in a private organization. Although life put him through different paths he managed to hold onto his passion with the help of his mom.

Success is a journey, not a destination:
He started to expose his drawings in social media and he managed to get few orders. Through his mom, he got to know about craftery in koppai. As they were very much pleased about his work, he gave a few of his works to them like pencil sketching, water painting and oil painting. Through IBC Tamil interview he got few orders via Facebook. A foreign lady who was very much passionate about drawings helped him to conduct an exhibition of this works.
He’s capable of doing 30 paintings in just two weeks.with his team. The cost of his painting is 15000 each. At present, he is looking for a place to do his artworks and display them.
